The Entrepreneurship development cell of Adi Shankara Institute of Engineering and Technology, Adi Shankara Boot Camp, ABC is proud to organize “APJ Abdul Kalam Innovation Challenge” in association with NASSCOM 10K Startup Warehouse, Kerala on 15th October, 2016 at ASIET, Kalady. The innovation challenge aims at providing students with the best platform to showcase their innovative ideas.RED FM is the Official Radio partner for the event.
Adi Shankara Boot Camp (ABC) is managed by an executive committee which has been making endless efforts in creating awareness among the students of the institution on the importance of Innovation and the significance of becoming an "employer than an employee" and in inculcating startup culture on campus. The activities organized by ABC include Entrepreneurship Development camps, Android App development workshops, Adruino workshop, Android App development challenge, Class on Photoshop, Raspberry pi workshop, mentor-ship sessions etc. The boot camp also ensures participation of students in competitions conducted outside the college and has bagged many awards and prizes. ABC is hence looking forward to the upcoming events and “APJ Abdul Kalam Innovation Challenge” is going to be a flagship event of ABC.
APJ Abdul Kalam Innovation Challenge was launched by ABC on July 27th, 2016 i.e. the first memorial day of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. So far, the journey of the innovation challenge has witnessed admirable response from students. To remark the commencement of the event, an approximate number of 1000 students from Sree Sarada School, Sree Sankara College and Adi Shankara Institute of engineering and Technology registered with over100 ideas as solutions to our social issues.
Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam Innovation Challenge – Journey so far:
• Launch of the Challenge – July 27th, 2016
• Awareness campaign – July 27 – August 10th
• Project Registrations – Till September 1st week
• Contest briefing to participants – September 1st week
• One-to-one project evaluation by internal jury – 24th September
• Faculty mentor assignment – September 2nd week
• Poster design competition (On Facebook) – 25thSeptember to 2nd October
• One minute pitch – 1st October
The stages ahead:
• Video Contest (On YouTube & FB) ( campaign from October 2th to 14th)
• Final Evaluation by internal panel ( 5th& 6th October )
• Final evaluation by external panel ( 14th October )
• Award Ceremony – 15th October
The projects presented are from the following domains:
-IoT - Logistics - Aero- modeling
-Automobile -Electronics -Cloud computing
-Mechanical -Construction and civil -Robotics
-Renewable Energy - Environmental Engineering -Agriculture
-Food technology -Chemical Engineering - Aid assistant
And other socially relevant issues
The best projects will be taken to the next level by associating the teams with various professional organizations. Adi Shankara values the persistent efforts taken by the participants and will be recognizing them with trophies, certificates and cash awards under following categories.
